Mary Pickford
Mary Pickford a commencé dans le théâtre à l'âge de sept ans. Alors connu sous le nom de "Bébé Gladys Smith", elle part en tournée avec sa famille dans un certain nombre de compagnies de théâtre. En 1907, elle a adopté un nom de famille Pickford et rejoint le David Belasco troupe, figurant au long de l'exécution de L'Warrens de Virginie". Elle a commencé dans les films en 1909 avec la 'American Mutoscope & Biograph [us]", travaillant avec le réalisateur D. W. Griffith. Elle est retournée à la Biograph, en 1912 et en 1913 rejoint les Célèbres Joueurs de Film d'Entreprise en vertu d'Adolph Zukor. Elle rejoint ensuite la First National de l'Exposant Circuit en 1918. En 1919, elle a aidé à établir la United Artists.
